Duh... Guess I haven't woken up properly yet! Now I re-read all the posts, you're absolutely correct. Oops.
Anyway, I've found the break apart doodad can be quite hit and miss. I had a picture of some trees for an X-Files stylee website design I was toying around with, and they came out awfully, while some pylons came out even better. Neither were anything too radical, just basically black and white images.

I just got the below update from the USCIS website regarding my case.
Has anybody received this?.. What is the possible Evidence that they may be looking for?. Who receives such notice (Me or My lawyer)... Normally what response time would be given?... Please advise...

This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.
My friend got similar RFE for his wife and daughter. That was for a copy I 140
and marriage certificate.
What happened was he applied to NSC, got transfered to CSC got receipts for the all the applications. Then the 485 was transfered to TSC. The Copy of marriage certificate and birth certifiate for his daughter went with that went with that. When they were processing 765 and 131 they could not find them, so they asked for for more evidence.

Income from websites is usually considered as passive investment (something similar to investing in stocks etc) This is legally allowed on H1B

After reading "Handing the president a win on a major issue like immigration reform in the run up to the 2008 elections might be good policy, but it would be bad politics." in the Time article, I have not much hope in getting a GC in the near future.
If the Democrats agrees with the Republicans and passes any meaningful CIR, then the whole credit would go to Bush and Co. It would make the Republican campaign very easy for Bush.
If I were a Democratic Senator, I would do every thing to block any CIR from getting passed.
With the record number of H1 applications recently, we can also expect that they would put serious limitations on H1, claiming that the whole thing is misused.
Apparently, the whole thing is hugely bad for America. It is not just Indian politician who can destroy their own country, American politicians can also do a fantastic job of destroying their country.
I feel sorry for my kids, who are US citizens by birth.

As far as I know for any L1 to become H1 needs to apply in the new H1 quota.
L1A is for managers and you actually have to work atleast one year outside the US to apply for a GC (L1A - GC)
L1B is most commonly used (abused). There is no minimum required pay and has no cap. Moving from L1B to H1b is a nightmare.

Is copy of approved I140 required for filing ?
Will just having a receipt notice of I140 do? My 140 is approved but I don't have the approval only the copy of the receipt notice.

Hi
I was under the impression that there would be some talks about the discussed bills on floor this week.I see no signs of any debate or any discussion.I have some read some posts saying that nothing would happen this year. This really confuses me as I had & I think many of us had hopes that coming weeks would decide something.
I would appreciate if someone could give everyone very clear picture of what going on ?

I am conflicted about Dream.
On the one hand, if it passes, the illegal community is pacified for the short term and if legal immigration is taken up immediately, they will not oppose us.
On the other, if it does not pass, we might have to wait for CIR or whatever else. Neither Republicans nor Democrats care to sponsor a bill just for our issues. They will continue to talk about amnesty vs enforcement.
Unless of course, we as a community step up, meet with lawmakers repeatedly, get them to take our issue seriously............
Who said it will be like that. They will get their immediate Dream relief (called downpayment by hispanic caucus) and hold the SKIL bill hostage to amnesty. In the past they were holding even dream act hostage to the mass amnesty. Now with the Comprehensive immigration reform looking hard, they are trying to get their own piecemeal items done before they get back to mass amnesty. Amnesty is so politically toxic that they badly need the Agjobs and tech industry lobby behind them.
Actually SKIL bill will see better chances in the new administration but senate is still under democratic party who controls the agenda there.

Take a look at this link. As per this, 2010 is the timeline promised by USCIS to clear all backlogs.

USCIS has been playing around with the definition of backlog... I believe the recent changes indicate that from now on only approvable cases will be considered a part of backlog. Meaning:
- if your PD is not current, or
- if your namecheck has started and is pending for <180 days
your case does not even count as a backlogged case... When they say they'll clear backlogs by 2010 what they mean is all approvable cases (PD current and Namecheck either clear or 180 days old) will be approved within the published timeframes (12-18 months for I-485).
For people stuck in retrogression such backlog reduction efforts have almost no meaning...

I believe that you need the actual diploma (you send a photocopy of it to USCIS) for getting counted in the M.S. quota. Most schools give the diploma once you have finished all requirements.
How come they cannot consider my EAD, Official transcripts, Graduate status letter?
Regarding Status letter, I have seen students applying like this and getting query later. What do you say about the students graduating in May (who files like me with OPT card and status letter) and applying for H1 in April?
